Making lanterns

We used tissue paper and black card to make a lantern. The monks would have done their writing by the light of a lantern.

Mealtimes

We learned what the monks ate and looked at the cutlery and the pots they used.

This is a spoon made of reindeer horn.

Sign language

We learned the sign language used by the monks to say soup, bread, I want to chat and I want to see the abbot.

Timeline

We dressed up and made a timeline of the history of Kirkstall Abbey.

We visited Kirkstall Abbey and walked around the Abbey.

St Patrick's Day

On St Patrick's day some children in our school came in Cub uniforms and some came in Brownie uniforms.
